"Common law is court-made and based on precedent."

Message Replied To ==========

Civil law isn't based on statutes. It's based on precedent......

And righting a wrong that one party commits against another. Is anyone really going to argue that Zimmerman didn't wrong Trayvon?==============================

Civil law is based on statute.

And, no, GZ didn't "wrong" TM. The evidence was that TM attacked him.

Too many people have been biased by the original media misreporting of the facts, and by that horribly prejudical and misleading photograph of a pre-teen TM. Most people haven't been able to consider the case impartially ever since and have been twisting the facts to fit their theory or agenda.

That's what happens when people jump to conclusions based on bad initial information. They close their minds to the facts.

There never was a better example than this case.

"It is a capital mistake to theorize before you have all the evidence. It biases the judgment."

"Never theorize before you have data. Invariably, you end up twisting facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts."
