I guess in retrospect it would have been better had Trayvon Martin

been carrying a firearm instead of Skittles.  That way, when he got freaked out by the guy following him he could have shot him in protection of his life.  Once authorities saw Zimmerman's gun and heard Martin's account of being pursued through a dark neighborhood at night he would have not committed a crime.  For the life of me I do not understand the effort to dance on the grave of a dead 17 year old who was ensared in a fight to protect himself.  We do not know who started the fight, we know what instigated it (Zimmerman following Martin), but we'll never know for sure who threw the first punch or what happened in that fight since there is only one witness still alive, the witness who instigated the whole situation via his dogged pursuit of a person not committing a crime.  It is sickening that people want to turn a dead kid into a villain.  Absolutely sickening, but also enlightening at the same time.

"know" how things went down.  That, along with the evidence at trial, resulted in the acquittal of GZ for the charges levied against him.

Therefore, perhaps you can appreciate the bewilderment many of us have wrt some who apparently refuse to accept the results of a fair trial and continue a campaign to smear GZ (his human faults notwithstanding), seek satisfaction through virtually any means necessary, and appear to share a desire for a level of retribution for their viewpoint not prevailing, even if it results in the perversion of due process and our legal system.

Trayvon, no angel by any stretch, is still dead.  It is a tragedy.  Let the parents seek whatever course of action they deem appropriate.  If that involves the legal system, let's allow it to unfold. I don't wish to see them treated unfairly in any such pursuits anymore than I did GZ, whatever the end results.
