My right wing friends (yes, it's generalizing but still 90% accurate) love to point out that those so upset by the T Martin's killer not being convicted of anything don't seem to be nearly as outraged by black on black murders occurring every day.
Yup. That's a good point. We lefties should think about what that means.
Now here's one for you.
How come you guys are so suddenly outraged by Zimmerman being railroaded in the criminal justice system when much worse than that happens to low profile poor defendants every day all across the country? Zimmerman had people rallying to pay his bills for great representation and all that comes with it. His case actually went to trial and he won. In the meantime, every day poor people get harried public defenders or court appointed lawyers able to devote next to zero resources while facing big mandatory sentences unless they agree to plea bargains whether they are guilty or not. No surprise that few poor people charged with crimes receive anywhere near the justice George Zimmerman received. But for them you shed how many tears?
I have seen many people claim that if GZ was black this would never have gone to trial. That's partially true. He'd be several months into his 10 year plea bargained sentence right now, And how many of you would be upset by that?
