"Wedding day story?" |
|
Message Replied To ========== Thanks!!....hope to meet someday and share memories... ..I don't have a sentimental cushion like you, but I DO have a story about my wedding day... will MudMial you about it......============================== Not a bad way to kill a bit of time while waiting on football season. Here's one of mine... My father had passed away when I was only eight, so my oldest brother ("The Boss" here on the VS) was "giving me away" on my wedding day. Just before the ceremony, my brother, my bridesmaids, and I congregated in the church kitchen, waiting for the signal that it was time to walk down the aisle. One of my bridesmaids, in an effort to keep me calm, asked me "What's your something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?" Every bride must have these things for good luck, you kow. Something old--wearing my mom's wedding dress--check! Something new--new shoes--check! Something borrowed--my aunt's earrings--check! Something blue--HOLY #badword#!! I FORGOT SOMETHING BLUE!!! Just at that moment, we got the signal that it was time for us to walk down the aisle. My brother, after taking one look at me and my horror over having on nothing blue, reached up to the top shelf in the church kitchen and ripped the blue label off a giant can of peas and stuffed it down the front of my dress. Yes, my "something blue" was a wadded up piece of blue paper. Must've worked, though, since we just celebrated our 29th two weeks ago. :) |
