As you know Will Grier plays for Davidson Day out of Charlotte, NC and they were playing Harrels Christian (Harrels, NC) last nite. I live in Wilmington which is an hour up the road and had to go check out our future qb. Let me just say...this kid is the real deal! Incredible arm strength, can make any throw. He also can scoot. Took one around the end for 95yds and ran past everyone! I got the chance to talk to his grandma and stepmom as well, nicest folks you'll ever meet. Also there was our OC Brent Pease. Funny, after that 95yd run I said to Brent as he was walking by "He's gonna look good in that Gator uniform" Brent turned and smiled and said "You damn right he is". That lead to about a 20 min convo I had with Pease. Really nice guy...and he did admit he made some shi#@y calls last week. Late in the game they pulled Will out and I was able to get in his ear and tell him good game. He turned and said thanks, I then asked for a Gator Chomp and right on que he smiled and gave it. I told him I was a diehard Gator and drove to watch him play. He told me to stick around after the game. I wondered what that was about, asking me to stick around. So I did and after the post game speech his dad gave in the back of the endzone he walked over, held out his hand and said he wanted to thank me for coming to watch him play. That was impressive I must say and leaves a permanent impression of what kind of kid he is with me. Most young guys with that much hype on em wouldn't do that. We got a good one folks, athlete and person. Just thought I'd share my story...Go Gators!
