Message Replied To ========== What happened to the Obamacare trainwreck? I noticed they released the average insurance rates today, state by state. They look pretty reasonable. Very few companies have lowered the hours of employees to avoid having to pay insurence. Sure a few have, but it really is minimal. The companies that have dropped some from their people from insurance roles, IBM for example, are mainly dropping people who have insurance from other sources, a sensible move since it makes no sense to pay twice for insurance. Why the urgent cries to defund? Lets impliment this program and go forward. If we find some bugs after implimentation, we can fix the bugs. There isn't anything out there suggesting this law is a trainwreck. Maybe not perfect, but certainly a step in the right direction.============================== The ACA has created monopolies of corporate-hospital owned "providers" who are allowed to bill 100% over the fees previously allowed. In most urban settings there are now just several of these companies where there used to be patient choice among hundreds and thousands of independent physicians who were competing against each other. In rural areas and small towns there are now usually just ONE monolithic provider. This was set up by the ACO provisions of the ACA..it is a direct result of the bill. Most of the better doctors have gone "concierge" and are available only to those who can afford them. Need to be admitted to a hospital? You will probably get a "hospitalist" who will be following a guideline for care written, not by a medical panel, but by the hospital CFO. Your doctor now spends 2/3 of his/her time typing in the electronic record which was mandated by the ACA instead of talking to the patient or examining them. That is if you are lucky enough to even see a doctor instead of a "noctor". So, we now have inferior, inefficient care at a higher cost. GOOD JOB OBAMACARE! A |
