There was a time at Florida when I didn't really care who our receivers were. It was safe to assume that we would get at least All-SEC production and often times All-American production from the WR position regardless of who lined up there. Didn't matter if they were freshmen, walk-ons, whatever, the WRs would show up and play at a very high level.

I'm starting to get the same feeling about our defensive front under Muschamp.

This still absolutely sucks for Easley and I'm saddened for him.

Of course, a player like Easley is irreplaceable. He is the best at what he does in college football. I sincerely believe that.

As such, it is impossible to simply plug in another Easley. We may, however, find someone who, in time, will be just as good. Muschamp has done a fantastic job in recruiting defensive talent. I am confident that the team will skip a beat, but the loss will not devastate the UF defense; only impair it. That's a credit to Muschamp's recruiting and coaching on that side of the ball, which has (as I said) been fantastic.

The devastating part of this injury is what it does to Easley. This young man has done things the right way since arriving at UF. He's worked hard and it was really starting to pay off as his draft stock was soaring. Easley does not come from a wealthy family and he was on the verge of positioning himself for the opportunity to gain generational wealth (if managed properly). Good things (if not great) can and should still happen for this young man. But this was a tremendous set back for him personally and professionally.

Yet as he has with all other things at UF, he is handling this event with grace, faith, and strength.
