It wasn't as if he were having an affair-- he was having an affair with a University employee less than half his age who received a promotion that she was vastly unqualified for-- and one for which at least one highly qualified minority was passed over. Moreover he lied about the wreck-- his description of the wreck is inconsistent with the road lay out, physics, geography and position of the sun. He pressured both his subordinate to lie about the wreck, he attempted to persuade law enforcement to lie on his behalf and he lied to his boss. He is such a scum bag that despite being one of the more successful Arkansas coach in 30+_ years the AD felt compelled to fire him, fully realizing that the subsequent hire(s) could cost him HIS job.

The guy is totally untrustworthy and not that great of a football coach--both Danny Ford and Houston Nutt took the Pigs to the SECC something Petrino failed to do.
