I went to the dermatologist for my annual skin examination. It turns out I have a basal cell carcinoma on my left forearm and the nurse scheduled me for additional surgery to remove it. My new Obamacare PCIP insurance plan has a $2,000.00 deductable so I call them up and they tell me I will ultimately have to pay for the cost of surgery up to that limit. The good news though is the doctor cannot charge more than the medicare rate for the procedure. So I call the doctor's office and inform them they will need to submit the bill to my insurer who will approve the bill only to the medicare rate. The doctor's office tells me they don't want to do it for that amount so we cancel the surgery. So I walk down to the dermatologist office which is right next to my office and explain I am looking for a new doctor to remove my cancer for the medicare rate. This doctor says he will be happy to do that as he regularly accepts medicare. So I am getting my procedure done for the medicare rate which is probalbly three times lower than what the other doctor would have charged. Thank you president Obama for providing me with insurance that forces doctors to charge no more than medicare allows.==============================

You should have switched anyway as the first guy should not have charged more than 115% above the Medicare allowable anyway. That has been the law since 1978.Basal cell is a non life threatening disease. But I am glad you feel your healthcare is only valued at the level of the lowest bidder. You made no mention as to which surgeon was of higher quality. Must not have mattered to you. That is good.. That will come in handy for you later.
