Message Replied To ========== I'm not breaking up with him yet - he still is our corch. But he no longer is my boyfriend. After the Sugar Bowl, I gave him back his class ring and letter jacket. He needed cuddling, and I obliged because he told me that he was trying so hard to win. He promised an offense, and I believed him. At the beginning of the season, I took back the class ring and letter jacket and wore it...with trepidation. And then this. Tonight I am putting those away and letting his wife do the emotional cleanup. We'll see what happens. In all seriousness, I support the current Gator ball coach, but I am too old and cranky to drink kool-aid anymore. ==============================while I'm not calling for his head, it is obvious that the status quo cannot continue for an extended time. Sure, injuries have been devastating. He DID inherit a mess, in many ways. Weis, who many believe was not his choice, was a disaster. All that said, he is the head coach. In his third year, he gets much less latitude in those areas. For a variety of reasons, we find ourselves at a juncture where the team is regressing and the staff seems to have no answers. So, we support the team and the coach ....... but we're not blind. We still say, "Go Gators" with conviction, but not much confidence that this team will offer us much happiness as fans for the rest of this season. The last thing I wish to see is another regime change, but that is out of my hands. I won't bad-mouth Boom even as I scratch my head at some of the play-calling and sideline decisions. But the jury is still out as to how long this marriage will last ........ I'd say the honeymoon is clearly over. |
