"I admit that I didn't watch the whole game live, but I did watch it all"

I post this not to say that I am not disappointed with how the game went yesterday, or this season for that matter.  Nor am I posting this to say what I chose to do or how I am reacting is better or worse than anyone else's, mostly I am just posting to share the cute picture of my kids :).

I'm definitely a passionate and dedicated Gator fan and UF alumnus.  I donate to the Fisher School of Accounting annually, helped endow a scholarship in memory of my uncle at the College of Pharmacy, return to campus frequently to interview and recruit the newest Gators to my firm, and of course watch and follow our athletic teams fervently.  That said, as loud as I scream while at games, and as passionately as I cheer, I still view Gator sports as entertainment, win or lose.  Sure the entertainment is better when we win, but I don't find myself cursing the tv (not really an option when watching with my kids anyway) or ruining my day over the result.  Do I want to see us perform better?  Absolutely.  Do we need a change in the coaching staff?  Perhaps, maybe even probably, but I am not going to focus on that obsessively.

As for yesterday, since it was an early start and we didn't have anything planned my six year old and I started watching the game together at kick-off.  We were joined by my four year old who honestly probably isn't a big football fan, but loves cheering for the Gators with us.  I love these moments with my kids and honestly couldn't care less about how poorly we played in the first half, I was having fun with them.

At halftime the rain outside started to go away and the kids asked if we could go pumpkin in the afternoon.  It is a big fall tradition for us and I knew I could watch the game later on DVR so I hit record, we piled into the car and drove up to one of our favorite pumpkin patches.  The kids had a ball and quite frankly so did we.  The weather was great, the laughs were plentiful and we created another family memory. Years from now, when my kids are too old for hayrides and pumpkin picking (which is coming too quickly honestly) I won't remember that we even played our first game at Missouri in conference action.  I will, however, remember and cherish this:

I hope everyone here has a great weekend and as always, Go Gators!
