Message Replied To ========== How does going 11-2 last season mitigate being 4-3 now? If the cupboard was bare then, it should be stocked better now, right? ==============================Gators are 4-3...the three losses are to teams that are a combined 21-3. All three losses were on the road. There were multiple starters missing in all three losses, the worst being the last against Missouri when 8 starters (including Cody Riggs being ejected) did not play...that is 36% of the starters NOT playing against an undefeated team, on the road. What should be expected from a team that has lost 25% of it starters for the season- including not just a starter, but what is unquestionably their BEST defensive player? Possibly their BEST receiver? Very few teams could overcome that number of injuries to starters...in fact, once you name Alabama, the list is probably empty. Look at our next opponent! Imagine how many games they would have lost had Murray gotten injured in addition to all the others. Like it or not, second string players aren't as good as starters. Give a little respect to the opponents! Lesser schools have good players, it's what allows them to hang with a better program....for a quarter or two...to think the Gators second stringers would be starters at any other school is naive in my opinion. If 4-3 isn't realistic for this team with all the issues with injury, what is realistic? Should they be 7-0? 6-1? Surely only 1 additional win wouldn't satisfy anyone...or would it make all the difference?
