Give me a break. Some of y'all hate him for where he went to school

The guy delivered the 5th winningest season in UF history in year 2, but some of you want to fire him for not contending in a year when like 9 starters are lost to injury for the season.==============================

Support all Gator players and coaches regardless of the sport.  And by saying that I DON'T mean never pointing out problems with the team, players or coaches.  I mean accept that the players were recruited thus asked to represent Florida, and the athletes wanted/agreed to do so.  As a result, I think it is fair to point out mistakes a player makes, how they could be better, who should play ahead of them, how their role should be diminished or improved without saying something about another player being the worst, most pathetic excuse, waste of a scholarship, etc.  If you want to say that about an opposing player, I may not agree with it, but it's not a Gator, so do what you feel you have to do.  Seems to me if you criticized Gators as though it was your kid or one of your close friends kids, then it would be appropriate.

Same for coaches.  Accept the decisions of the AD.  The coach was hired by the AD...i.e., was asked to represent Florida and agreed to do so.  The coach asks others to assist in doing so.  By all means, question their play calling, the way they develop players, the recruits they offer, the way they yell but do it constructively.  What is the point of saying so and so was an idiot since day one? Say specifically what you like or don't like about what they do and/or how they do it.  Accept that they are going to represent Florida until the head coach or the AD decides otherwise.  I have no problem with telling the AD what issues you have, but not statements like - Fire them immediately, he was a stupid hire from day one.  It doesn't matter! They have the job!  It's old news that can't be changed - why go there?

Now if it is a coach no longer representing the University or a player who is no longer playing for Florida, have at it. But if it is an active coach, even a lousy one, have faith that the system will work and the coach will be replaced by a better one....in the mean time be respectful of the fact the coach you hate represents UF.  Criticize them the way you would want to be criticized if someone at your office was evaluating you.  Doesn't mean you can't say anything negative, just be constructive about it.

If you can't stand watching the product being put on TV, just don't watch it...why tell the world your team is so pathetic you refuse to watch!  What effort does it take for a fan to watch a game?  Have some respect for the kids busting their rears practicing and trying their best to win for themselves and YOUR university- even when everything suggests they may not!  I'm not saying anyone isn't a fan because they don't watch a game, just don't announce you are shamed to the point of not being able to lay eyes on the team you live and die for.

I will probably get blasted for this post, but I am sincerely interested in how others think a fan should act - specifically toward their chosen university.
