While many problems are self-imposed, the mitigating variables cannot be dismissed and we have no real alternative. Jeremy Foley should assert now that Coach Muschamp will not be fired no matter what happens the rest of the year. 

Last season was not all luck. The guy can coach and should get another year to see if he can learn and adapt. Confirmation of another season gives us continuity in recruiting to fill the cupboard if he fails and gives time to search effectively for a replacement.

If things don't improve significantly then, we might have the same debate next year, but the second-chance, 11-2, and injury arguments will be invalid and a change can be made with little acrimony.

I sense that some UF fans are are rooting for UF to lose out this season so Muschamp can be fired, and I don't like it. It is human nature to feel that way, though, and only Foley can end it. He needs to do so now.
