My wife and I went to Duncan Doughnuts for some coffee and I said "this will be the first year since 1976 that I will not have attended a Florida home game". Now that I spend half my year in Colorado I miss the season through October but always attended a game or two. I told her I didn't want to face the humiliation of getting pantsed by FSU or seeing a dejected fan base. I went anyways.

No tickets in hand I found a seat in the Champions Club (very nice). I cheered for the seniors, sang the alma mater, swayed to We are the Boys and cheered so loud, for the first 25 minutes, that I am a little horse this morning. I was still incredibly proud to be a Gator (class of 80).

Here's the point. With deference to Moonlight Graham, this is my most special place in all the world. Once a place touches you like this, the wind nevers blows so cold again. You feel for it, like it was your child.

For those of us who have been around for awhile we realize that it is a special place, UF. I decided a decade ago I wasn't going to allow 18-22 year olds playing football to impact my happiness like I used to. I love my university and trust it's leaders to get things right. But, by the way, it is just kids playing ball.

I will continue to support MY University with my time and money, regardless of who is coaching
