"RE: kinda brings up some questions" |
|
Message Replied To ========== kinda brings up some questions - hasn't the boat simply taken on too much water?....as in hasn't Muschamp just run out of time and lost too much credibility already? We all agree we are missing some key pieces on Offense....and even when we get what we desperately need identified and corralled early and seem spot on in our talent evaluation (unlike the misses on Mike Davis and on Henry the in the previous classes) now we simply do not have the credibility to hold on to that recruit/those recruits. Our recruiting class is way behind sow, scUM, UGA, Bama, LSU, etc etc. Our top 2 recruits are from out of state - we are being thoroughly dominated in-state on the recruiting trail right now. - How in the world is that lack of confidene in him by recruits (not to mention most fans from what I've seen...and yes I think those are related) going to turn around fast enough? If we don't have a dramatic turnaround....as in HELL YES WELL MORE THAN 8 WINS! next year things are going to get hugely ugly if Foley tries to keep this thing going. If you thought it got ugly at the end of last season, you ain't seen nothin' yet....we're talking MASSIVE swathes of empty seats, lots of people drifting away, far more venom not just towads Muschamp but now directed squarely at Foley...the works. They didn't tolerate 8 win seasons 10 years ago, they're not going to tolerate an even worse average now - particularly if fsu is winning national championships. - I remember saying to you 2 years ago that if the Pease hire did not work out it would doom Muschamp. I think it has and that prolonging the agony only makes it worse. I'm sure the usual suspects will get their knickers in quite a twist over this post but its all true/realistic. Honest question DJ....how do YOU see it? What points do you disagree with? ============================== I just don't see any point in continuing to agonize about it. The injuries last year were indeed ridiculous in scope and severity. I like the Roper hire, and I certainly liked what I saw from Duke in their bowl game. Sure there are huge question marks and there is basis for many of the concerns that have expressed, but I'm going to be positive. Hopefully we have enough talent on hand to be successful next season with better offensive and overall coaching, and better luck. |
