A little bit of snow, freaked out drivers all hitting the roads at once, general lack of winter driving skills,  cluelessness about school dismissals, and sudden realizations that you don't have milk or whatever and trying to make last-minute runs to stores.

are from the NE anyway.  I drove the 1 mile home last night at around 8.  I got to the top of a hill on the main road near my house, very light traffic, and there was a dude who had STOPPED just before the crest of the hill and of course, he was stuck.  He was in a BMW 3 series, and (I #badword# you not) he had CT plates. I was just going to go around him but there was a car coming in the other direction, so I had to stop.  Now I am stuck on the hill.  Then another car behind me, then another behind that one, etc.  So, we were all #badword#ed by a guy in a BMW from CT.  I asked him why he stopped.  He told me he started to slide a little at the top of the hill and got worried.  I told him that you have to keep going, not do anything abrupt, and you would have been fine. So here is the guy from Florida telling the guy from CT that he can't drive for #badword#. We all pushed each other up over the crest of the hill and I made it the last 1/4 mile home without incident.  No, I am not making this up.  I thought about taking a pic w/ my cell phone camera b/c I suspected nobody here would believe it, but you have to admit, the irony is ripe.
