The above is a favorite tactic of the AARP when it comes to SS and Medicare cuts, even when the proposals will have zero impact on their current membership.

..."they want to balance the budget on the backs of (fill in aggrieved party or program)" when even the slightest cut in a favorite program is mentioned, I am going to go postal.
