1) Message boards shouldn't be taken so seriously. Especially opposing boards. So what if VS admins ban me? What do I care? The whole VTTW / Mudlizard.com angle was way overplayed. Very few of us have ever met, so what does it matter?

2) Trolling is fun. I think this is the key thing that a lot of our boards have been missing out on. It is fun to rile people up on the Internet. I think the Mudduck boards/ VTTW have missed the boat on how fun trolling can be.

3) Conference loyalty is for either bottom feeders who want to feel good about themselves or for top level schools who want to make their patsies look better. Like, what good does it do UT if Florida wins the NC in basketball this year? That's great for Florida, but it doesn't do anything for UT. Ergo, I should root for Florida to get knocked off ASAP. Same for UK. The only thing that a UF national title would bring is a recruiting advantage for UF. So, that doesn't help UT at all. Why do I care?

I fully admit that these thoughts were composed under the influence of brown liquor, but... truth.

And while enthusiasm, tolerance, passion levels, enjoyment, etc. for these boards and what happens to be typed onto them at a given time ebbs and flows throughout the years, the one constant is the friendships made with the people on the other keyboards who log into these boards.  Even the contact with some of those people gets more and less over the years...but they remain, for me anyway, the biggest value of this whole thing.
