that at worst he was ignorant to what was going on. The investigation put a lot of blame on JoePa, because he should have known, and should have done more with what he did know. No one at the university, including many with information that could have put a stop to the abuse, wanted to cause trouble for the football program -- largely due to that cult of personality you mentioned. The saying is so true that all it takes for evil to prevail is good people to do nothing. JoePa was good people. He did nothing. Many kids suffered due to his inaction, and it's an ugly stain on what was an overall outstanding career. The people in State College would like to remember the good, and move past the bad. Not possible, and it's a tough deal for those who care about that school.
