Bama's been lucky that UT has been down the last decade, whereas LSU rarely enjoys down years from UF. No doubt Bama wants to keep it that way for their best interests, and LSU wants to change it for theirs. Where the league can help fix the inequity is to ensure that the non-permanent teams rotate equally - and not haphazardly as has happened during the realignment process the last few years. THAT has been the real inequity -- that Bama has avoided Georgia so much in recent years -- it gave both teams a competitive advantage that undoubtedly resulted in more success than had they played each other a couple more times.
