Last night I had the honor of attending the second student's graduation ceremony, the first student graduated a year earlier. He was Valedictorian of his class and gave a great speech. And I am so happy for him and proud of him. In the fall he will attend Duke University on a full scholarship and, when you add up all the scholarship money that was available to him from various schools and sources, it totaled a little over $250,000!
When I was talking to his parents last night, we recalled all the talks he and I had about "it getting better" and we all agreed, it did indeed get better for him. |
