Heck, I can't watch five minutes of TV without seeing a Republican attack ad attacking another Republican for cooperating TOO MUCH with the POTUS.

Make no bones about it, the Tea Party and many within the traditional GOP are not willing to work with this president on ANYTHING. It's career suicide if they do.

This is worse than what Clinton and W faced. What we have now is a radicalized GOP that is deathly afraid of being primaried.

Even still, I agree that this president has not done a good job of working through or around this problem.

Obama has faced nothing like the opposition Clinton faced. Obama has not faced an increased polarization just normal political rhetoric. The problem is that, unlike his predecessors, Obama's personality does not allow him to be conciliatory or even attempt to reach compromise. He always thinks he is the smartest man in the room. To Obama, "compromise" is defined as his opposition giving in to what he wants. Obama's recent immigration speech is a perfect example of his poor leadership. He spoke as if he was talking to a democrat fundraiser, not the nation.

Even Nixon was able to get more bipartisan compromise than Obama and Nixon faced MUCH worse opposition than anything Obama could ever even imagine.

Obama's constant blaming things on his opposition is a cop-out.
