"The people who killed them are in Honduras, not the United States" |
|
Message Replied To ========== Yes. We all knew these kids would be killed upon their return. We sent them anyway, to their deaths. Chemo even stated it on this board, he told us what would happen. This was no surprise. Seems very clear to me. No straw man, just another example of playing pretend to make ourselves feel better about our decision to send these kids to their death. ============================== Just because those kids were able to make it here illegally because our government refuses to enforce border security does not make our nation or anyone in it culpable for heinous crimes committed by individuals or groups in other countries. Honduras clearly has its own issues to solve. The United States clearly has its own issues to solve. We should be focused on solving our issues and cleaning up our messes, and Honduras should do the same. But their mess is not our mess, and their murder is not our murder. I've well beyond had it with being blamed for the evil done by others, and I'm well beyond the feeling that I have to pay to be the policeman of and orphanage for the world. That is not what our Constitution says our federal government is supposed to do. Quite the opposite actually. Our government has a responsibility to its OWN CITIZENS, not the citizens of Honduras or any other foreign country. People die everywhere every day. It is a fact of life and the world we live in. We are not GOD, nor should we continue to try and play GOD. We cannot afford to do it, and should not do it at the cost of helping our own citizens. |
