Those right-wing slanted publications you mentioned are no more slanted than the left-wing slanted publications that have frequently been posted. Frankly, I don't read much of either. What's always been intriguing are the posts from the k00ks and near-k00ks--Wayne, Clockwork Orange, UFNY, chemosabe, Flea, Gator DJ, MichiGator, TxGator, SouthwestFloridaGator, Mississippi Vol, even Jean Voljean (well...sometimes, haha), and certainly others. I'm not saying all of these posters self-identify with k00ks or k00kism, but none of them are shills for the right or the left. I'm reasonably certain all can find, and have found, plenty of fault with both the current and prior administrations. (That's where k00kism begins--i.e. the well-documented notion that those in power should always be viewed with a highly skeptical eye.) Those who blame the "other" side are, by definition, blamers. As such, they tend to be incessantly negative: they rarely construct informative, thoughtful posts. When and if they do, the k00kists are more likely to engage. And let's face it, they're far more reasonable in their discourse and far less likely to resort to namecalling.

You are of course free to share your opinion that the discussions in here have devolved into rightwing slamming. (With leaders like Obama and Pelosi, Democrats should expect it.) Imho, though, to the degree to which shills for either side refrain from posting, the Lounge becomes more interesting. It's at its most boring when it's dominated by rightwingers and leftwingers just going back and forth at one another. Meanwhile, there are some very intriguing, thoughtful posters who contribute here.
