It's gotten very hard for many people to separate the party from the person * ============================== Cynical, self-serving emotional manipulation is a calling card of both major parties. Would somebody please find me a piece of campaign literature from any candidate that doesn't contain distortions or outright falsehoods? And inevitably, when those kinds of things get pointed out, somebody will post "well, the other side is worse, and the only way to get elected is to use those kinds of tactics - it's a necessary evil"..... blah blah blah. And in so enabling (and by choosing to ignore that kind of behavior from our favored candidate, enabling is exactly what we're doing)..... .... we have met the enemy, and he is us. |
