I based it on everyone who was involved in the disgusting events - they are either in jail, dead or have nothing to do with Penn State anymore. New coach, new AD, new President... two year bowl ban already... the student-athletes who stayed want to be at Penn State and they go to class and are graduating. PSU paid the fines and lawsuits etc.

That said Jay Paterno needs to STFU while he's ahead.

There are lessons here that need to last for centuries.  Reducing the penalties diminishes the likelihood of that happening, and it diminishes the severity of what went on.  This wasn't "just" a case of LOIC. It was deliberate. And criminal.  And there was most definitely a culture at Penn State that not only allowed it to happen in the first place, but allowed it to continue.

I thought the penalties they got in the first place weren't severe enough.  To further reduce them now is simply wrong.
