"Pumpers view of the game..." |
|
I have to keep reminding myself the Gators are 2-1...I feel like they lost 3 games today! This game has definitely got me leaning toward Muschamp not being the answer. He can still turn it around for me, but today has me thinking it probably won't happen. First, the defensive failures over the past two weeks are confirming that Quinn was the reason season two was so amazing on that side of the ball (along with Quinn being very successful at the next level). It's okay to say it can be corrected, but not when it isn't. I didn't see anything innovative in the game plan or adjusted in terms of dealing with Bama's offense after the half. Something I did see when Quinn was around...and at the time attributed to both Quinn and Muschamp. I can't even imagine how many missed tackles there were in that game...I had a Nebraska flashback! The conservative play calls at the end of the half really bothered me. I couldn't believe he was not going to try and score again before the half knowing that Bama was going to get the ball and potentially go up two scores. (of course it didn't turn out that way, but still...) Was shocked to hear him at halftime say they needed to run the ball more. I felt like he was basically giving a vote of no confidence to Roper. If he felt Driskel was being ineffective throwing it...give Harris a shot for a series or two. Unquestionably out-coached. I HOPE Bama played lights out rather than the Gators making them look like it. I HOPE the Gators win out. I HOPE it can be corrected. LOTS of work to be done. |
