"My view and support of FSU football are forever changed."

Message Replied To ==========

If most of the sports announcers/analysts said that Winston should not be in the

stadium during the game, why did the cameras keep focusing on him during the game?

==============================

First of all, I am guilty of trying to wedge Winston's past actions into some form of forgiveable, youthful shennanigans, as a justification for supporting him and the team during last year's championship season.  I blindly ignored the inconvenient disclosures of the criminal investigation, instead favoring the concocted story of consent and related B.S.  The crabclaw incident made me second guess the prior pass that I issued Winston, since it demonstrated a gross ignorance by the young man, at best. But I still favored giving him that pass. The events of last week snapped me out of that disgusting funk. To have skated a rape charge under suspect circumstances, and then have all the glory brought by a MNC and a Heisman, only to publicly scream a phrase which is offensive to all women, but which is particularly offensive, I would guess, to the young lady in that room 2 years ago, as well as all victims of sex crimes--all to get a laugh at the expense of those I just mentioned, is either diabolically disgusting, or it is proof that this young man scores zero in the departments of Common Sense, Maturity and Leadership. Zero.  To then allow the young man to remain on the sideline in a nationally televised game causes me great concern about all I had previously thought positive about Jimbo Fisher. Winston should have been locked in his dorm room or sent home to Alabama for the weekend. But on the sideline? Being the team cheerleader, all with approval of the Coaches? Really?  The topper, of course, was Winston showing up on the field in full pads and helmet. What was he thinking? Someone would say, "Oh Jameis, since you're dressed out anyway, we'll go ahead and let you play." Disgusting.  And then, after the win, Jimbo casually drops the indication at his press conference that Winston is restored to full team status on Monday, that he is really a great guy, that he hoped Winston has learned from this punishment--Really?--etc.  Looking at all of this B.S., I have independently concluded that FSU has crossed the line for putting jock ahead of character; of putting football ahead of dignity; of adopting the win at all costs philosophy, without equivocation, despite the visible stink of allowing Winston to have his way with this team. Whether it begins and ends with Jimbo, or reaches higher than that to the AD or the President, it doesn't really matter. If they didn't order it, they certainly didn't stop it. So my romance with FSU football shall remain on pause, unless or until such time as Winston is permanently expelled from the team, as is Fisher. I have 35 years into my relationhship with FSU and am not going to support this team while this mindless bunch is at the helm. They taint the school on a national level and frankly, enough is enough. That is all.
