I'm blessed to be a Gator. Our rivalry has been diminished in some Gators eyes because, frankly, it hasn't been much of a rivalry for almost a decade.

But lest we forget...

I never forget how UT lead the charge to strip us of our SEC title in 1984, a pos facto stripping of a title that never happened before or since.

I never forget my first road trip to K-ville in 1990 where those Vols beat us 45-3 and their fans were a-holes to us. "Our students don't get killed" some toothless jackasses said to us 7 weeks after Rolling. #badword# them.

I never forget the next year in 1991 in Gainesville beating those guys and telling their fans to enjoy a December bowl game.

I never forget that Peyton never beat Florida.

I'll never forget that game in 1995 when the skies opened in the second half, the Swamp flooded and my Gators rained 62 points on those Vols.

I never forget going to the Orange Bowl at the end of 1997 with my recently deceased University of Nebraska brother in law (class of 78) and some Vol getting in our grill after the game with two fingers in my face saying "ya'll are still going to finish number 2." I said "Number 2, isn't that where Peyton finished in the Heisman voting." By the way, Huskers still got a piece of the natty title. Suck it Vol.

I never forget my second trip to K-Ville in 1998 where we lost in OT (PS--I since have realized that the Gators are cursed when I go to K-Ville, have not been back since).

I do love the Vols for beating the Noles in the Fiesta Bowl later that year, but that's where the love begins and ends.

I'll never forget that night in December 2001 when the Vols beat UF in Gainesville for the first time since the 1970s. I sat in Florida Field for an hour after the game. I had no idea at the time that this would be the last time I'd see Steve Spurrier coach the Gators in the Swamp. #badword# Osama bin Ladin. And #badword# the vols.

I'll never forget that 9 in a row is not enough, never enough, and that that song Rocky Top sends me into dry heaves every time I hear it.

So Go Gators. Beat the everliving #badword# out of the Vols.

Its always great to be a Florida Gator.
