"Random thoughts...."

The way the win happened might have been exactly what this team needed.  Lots of adversity, the D played lights out all game and kept the Gators in the game.  Loved the improved play in the secondary.  Worley is a very good QB, and he had what had to be a very frustrating day for him.

I would have put in Harris about 3 series earlier than the coaching staff did, but it worked out fine and now there's no "he was too quick on the trigger" to deal with had things not gone well with Harris in the game.

I liked the play selection yesterday.  The problems we had were mostly ones of execution.

JD does have strengths.  Coach to those strengths, use JD in situations where his strengths come into play, and I think it might help JD not feel so much pressure and help him perform better.  In the SEC, you better have 2 QB's that can play.

Loved seeing the player tweets post-game about this being a great TEAM win.  It was.

The SEC is always all about survive and advance. 5 of the Top 8 teams lost yesterday.  They didn't survive.  BTW, that's never happened before.

Bama has significant weaknesses (kicking game and secondary come to mind immediately). Phoenix pointed out they've lost their last 3 games against ranked teams.  They're dealing with having the proverbial bullseye on their back, Saban is not a particularly strong game day coach, and the "invincibility" mystique that will win some games they shouldn't win is rapidly fading.  They're a middle of the pack SEC West team this year (and would probably still win the East).

What a great day for the State of Mississippi, and a great long weekend for the state of Arizona.  I'd add Utah to that, but BYU would beg to differ.

Why oh why did I stay up and watch UCLA-Utah?  The answer to that one is yesterday was a classic college football Saturday, and we only get so many of those a year.  It was a heck of a lot of fun.  If you missed the Hail Mary where Arizona State came back to beat USC after being down 9 points with 2 minutes left, take the time to find it.
