Message Replied To ========== I wonder what UF does if it comes down to "he said, she said...".... UF aspires to be seen as the best of state universities in the country, UMich, UNC, UVA, UTx, etc... There is such a focus on sexual assault right now, and Machen made such a strong statement Monday, that I wonder whether UF will take the overly PC road and just cast Treon aside to differentiate itself from FSU and the perceived SOuthern football factories. If so, it will really hurt UF in recruiting, esp. in So Fla.============================== I would sooner cast aside the entire senior administration than cast aside a student with no real evidence of guilt "just to be safe" or to "send a message" or any other reason that denies him substantive due process. If the senior administration from Machen on down were to do this I would favor removing every single last one of them and starting from scratch. That is NOT the message we need to be sending at UF. |
