But recall that this is the same fan base that is only 5 years removed from running the legendary coach that built their program out of town because he had the temerity to hire and then fire his son an offensive coordinator and lost 5 in a row to UF. Hmmm.

This is the same fanbase that didn't fill the Gator Bowl (not even close) for said coach's last game. Hmm.

If Winston was merely a slightly above average at QB, say like Danny Kannell, these fans would have wanted him gone a long time ago.

But he's not yet lost a game, so instead of blaming Jameis, the Nole fanbase blames everyone and everything but Jameis and his coaches. It's not Jameis---it's the Gator media, it's the SEC, it's the New York Times, it's Publix's fault, the "cleat chaser", the kid who tweeted about Jameis shouting FHRITP, an autograph forgery, the squirrel's fault, the BB gun's fault, the NFL's fault, racists, rivals, the apartment windows fault for getting in the way of Jameis' BBs, the fault of the people who Jaboo's dad told FSU to watch him, Bo Jackson's fault and ESPN GameDay's fault.

Everyone's fault but Jameis. To which I'd ask my Nole friends, why are you more loyal/willing to defend Jameis Winston than you were to defend Bobby Bowden?

Nevermind, I wouldn't expect an honest answer to this question. Nor do I think my friends would like themselves much if they gave an honest answer.
