I keep reading how he has screwed up for not firing Muschamp already. We don't know what he has done or who he has talked to if anyone. Perhaps he has made a deal with a HBC coaching somewhere right now and that coach has asked him to keep it quiet until the end of his season or whenever he thinks it is best for all parties involved.

When he hired Muschamp that came right out of left field and not one person had heard anything about Will Muschamp's name being involved in the coaching position at UF.

Have we forgotten so soon? Foley has a quiet way about making deals before anyone in the public hears a word about it. I seriously doubt that will change this time around.

It is a lame duck coaching staff regardless. Why further de-stabilize the situation by playing against the remaining schedule without a head coach? I'm fine with allowing Muschamp to finish out the season, as long as it doesn't limit our ability to search for and sign our best head coaching option to replace him. If Jim Harbaugh is not comfortable negotiating with UF while Muschamp still holds the title of head football coach, then I fire Muschamp immediately. I think that was part of the Meyer deal, that he wasn't willing to deal with teams who still had a head coach in place.

If I'm Foley I met with Muschamp this morning and let him know that UF is going in a different direction with the head coaching position after the FSU game. If Will wants to finish out this season coaching the players he recruited to the program he is welcome to do that as long as the kids are playing hard for him and as long as he doesn't do anything to further de-stabilize the program.

We can't effectively recruit with the lame duck staff and head coach but we have no other option. The players know the staff is a lame duck staff and so there may be discipline issues, so if I was Foley I'd address the football team and let them know that discipline will be maintained or else, and that the coaching staff still has authority as a coaching staff.
