"Probably enough blame to go around. But its the Coach's sandbox. Always will be. Has to be." |

Message Replied To ========== At the risk of starting another firestorm, Zach at Gatorsports has Orr's side of the story including a most heartfelt letter to Gator fans. I hate that it came to this, and considering how contrite he is, I wouldn't have minded Will letting him come back. A potential teachable moment for all. And not visiting him in the hospital is really sad, Will still has some things to learn about being a HBC.============================== I hate to sound like a hard ass because I feel sympathy for Orr. But by the age of 22 a person has got to learn some pretty basic facts: If you disagree with the coach (or a boss), you take it up with them in private and discuss it. If the coach (or the boss) does not change his mind, your options are: (1) stay, suck it up, and contribute. OR (2) Leave. You don't leave in a manner that makes a spectacle out of yourself and then "apologize" in a manner in which you trash the coach (or the boss). I cannot imagine anyone behaving similarly in the real world, i.e. the military or the business world, and expecting a different result than what Orr got. Yeah, I have sympathy for Orr. I appreciate the sacrifices he's made for UF. But when he was told he wasn't starting for the Vandy game, he should have stayed and contributed if he wanted to remain as part of the team. Or he could leave. He left. Issue is over. I wish Orr luck in the future. |
