As I've posted before, I've long ago moved past the stage of my life where losing games impacts my emotions in a negative way. I even felt this way during the "glory" years, so it isn't a case of diminished expectations now. For me, I watched today's game with my kids in front if a fire and enjoyed the time. The result was disappointing, but the afternoon wasn't.
Speaking of disappointment, I am disappointed for Will Muschamp, not in him. His failure as a head coach is not as a result of a lack of desire or effort on his part, it just didn't work out. I am confident that as disappointed as all of us are, he is likely more disappointed. The end result here is now abundantly clear and I wish Will well in the future. I have faith in Jeremy Foley and our program that better times are in the future.
I am sad for Will Muschamp though. He is going to lose his job and have to uproot his family again. He didn't work out for us but he is a good person, and sometimes we are guilty of forgetting that these are people.
