As for Zook, we seem to forget that SOS did him no favors by retiring out of the blue.  To make it worse, he retired in early January and left Foley very little time to hire anyone.  Most coaches out there didn't want to follow Spurrier and we weren't left with our pick(s) of coaches.  

The Zook years were maddening.  Some of the most mind-numbing losses in our program's history occurred during that run.  I know that on my tombstone it will read:  The Miami Loss in '03 Took Three Years Off His Life.

But the Zook years brought some great recruits.  Ron could sell a program and left the squad loaded for Urban's run.  Zook was the bridge we needed and considering the small window we had, not the worst hire.  

As for Muschamp.  He seemed like the up and coming guy.  It turns out he was not ready to run a program like ours.  I wish him well in the future as a DC or as the coach of Eastern Michigan.

Jeremy rolled the dice with Will and it came up crap ass for us.  I have faith he will hire the right person the next time around.  His track record in all sports (you may recall a guy named Donovan) is strong.  He is incredibly well-respected in his field and his voice is heard.  We have a 12 game schedule in college football thanks to his work. He is an innovator and has done our school proud.  

If he were to ask me for advice on the next football hire I'd tell him the following:

-Get someone with head coaching experience

-Don't hire a Georgia grad.  Gene Ellenson was the only Bulldog that ever should've be considered as our coach
