And no, I'm not talking aboutb 2005 or 2006. I'm talking about now. Don't get me wrong, this loss hurts as bad as any I've seen in the last 15 years. I'm sure it hurts Zook more, who basically would have been granted a 5 year grace period/tenure if we pulled out this win against Miami in Miami. But I, like most of you, am damn proud of the effort tonight and see enough positives for me to believe that we have a real team this year. Forget this naysaying "rebuilding year" 7-5 preseason prediction bullspit. If this team focuses on the positive lessons of tonight, you can take the following to the bank: 1. If we play like we did during the first 3 quarters, we team will not lose another game 2. This year's team will win the SEC. Additional observations (predictions) 1. Chris Leak will win the Heisman by 2005 (or sooner) 2. Troupe will be drafted before Kellen Winslow, Jr. 3. Winslow, Jr. is over rated 4. This Miami team will beat the everloving stuffing out of the Semis 5. If things bounce right for the Gators, we may be playing the Canes again in New Orleans 6. Brock Berlin, it gets no better than it did tonight. Saw the Gator chomp you did at the end of the game. very classy. Glad you transfered bud, because you'd be riding the pine behind Chris Leak, Gavin Dickey and Ingle Martin. Nobody gave these guys a chance against Miami. Special teams sucked in the first quarter but got it together later in the game. But our Defense played their guts out. This was no "choke at doak" we saw tonight. What we saw was UM team play as though they had nothing to lose and just catch fire(Berlin in particular) Stuff happens. You can't blame Charlie Strong or the players. Back to the positives. The running game was great. Wilbur punts the ball a mile. And Chris Leak, damn, an 18 year old true frosh was " " this close to leading a game winning drive in the orange bowl in his second game. So despite our disappointment, we Gators need to focus on the positive and stick together. Its ALWAYS great to be a Florida Gator.
