Message Replied To ========== Is the view here that the ref's who made no call on the play, are part of a conspiracy? I ask this only partly in jest. First of all, I am on the record here and elsewhere that it is my view Winston should have been dismissed from the team earlier this year beginning with the Clemson game, and that Jimbo has handled the Winston situation horribly. My view has not changed on that. So I am not a Winston/Jimbo advocate or defender. As for the play itself, I was at the game, and didn't really see the play other than that there was some confusion at the line of scrimmage. It wasn't until I saw the replay on TV that I saw Winston push the ref. To me--a fan and not an expert on the rules--I would have thought a penalty would be in order. But there wasn't even that. Which leads me back to my original question: is prevailing thought that a penalty wasn't called proof of a conspiracy, in which the refs are participating? I don't get that. Blown call, maybe. But conspiracy? ============================== here that they are determined FSU gets the best chance possible to appear as their entry in the playoffs. Come on, this is an obvious, no-brainer call, and I guar-an-tee you if Harris pulled a stunt like this on Saturday he'd get the boot. |
