"My Mom had a cornea transplant at Emory this week...Impressed! And a few other things....."

With the whole experience....From day 1 of the process, the doctor and the entire staff, from check in to recovery, were absolutely amazing...I was able to stay with her thru pre op and was immediately called back to see her when they rolled her into the recovery area...Dr Khalifa, whom I cannot brag on enough, was able to save some layers of natural cornea to inhibit any rejection of the new tissue...He spoke to me directly after the procedure and filled me on on how the process went and how pleased he was with the early results...Mom was able to walk out on her own with no wheelchair and the nurse from recovery even walked out to the parking deck with us to hurry the valet along with our vehicle...we stayed in Atlanta for the night to see the doctor again the next morning...And yes, my 90 pound mom absolutely destroyed a burger and potato soup from Outback after leaving Emory...LOL!  Next morning, we got in quick and Dr K was impressed with his work as he looked at Mom's eye with the microscopic viewer...He even let me look and I was a bit freaked out by all the micro-sutures in her eye but every bit of the scarring had been removed and her eye was now totally clear...Never been more pleased or happier in my life...he even had another surgeon come in and look and he was impressed as well...Pretty joyous gathering... :-)  Just lots of heartfelt thanks to Emory Healthcare from the doctors down to the support staff...Mom is back at her usual 100 MPH pace already... :-)

Saw Investigator a bit ago and as always, appreciate what a great Gator and great guy he is....He is a welcome visitor in my shop anytime... He even got to meet my f$u friend...She really cute but I question her taste... :-(

Loved Jax this year!  Was with my UGA fan family most of the time so, I so loved the outcome...Suck it Uga! Went to St Augustine after the game and my friend Phil and I drained a bottle of Bushmills and some Small Barrel Evan Williams...Was a great weekend for sure...And yes, I remember it all.... I even got the J Roche Tile Shop folks to make me a new Gator to celebrate the win...Still waiting on delivery but will post a pic later...

Best holiday wishes to u all....Thanx for making this a fun and informative board...Love all u guys and girls.....Go Gators!!!

A tattoo

is a true poetic creation, and is always more than meets the eye.  As a

tattoo is grounded on living skin, so its essence emotes a poignancy

unique to the mortal human condition.  ~V. Vale and Andrea Juno, Modern Primitives

Tattooing

is about personalizing the body, making it a true home and fit temple

for the spirit that dwells inside it.... Tattooing therefore, is a way

of keeping the spiritual and material needs of my body in balance.
