...that is similar to what was proposed below, which was it's ok to torture to save many lives. I get the impression from most that they are partisan to the point of supporting a Republican stance on torture (not that there is an official stance from that party, but Republican politicians tend to support the use of torture) instead of thinking along the lines of a Christian's view on life.

My question with this is similar to one I posted some time back about how a Christian should view the illegal alien crisis that had a bunch of kids that came into the US illegally. As a Christian, shouldn't our main concern be for the life instead for 'Murica? I am still a little speechless to hear any Christian say they support torture. Or, for that matter, the death penalty, especially if they also are prolife and state the sanctity of life is of upmost importance.

they both piss me off equally.  With those disclaimers up front, I will address the subject. 

I have no problem with someone receiving what a lot of people consider torture. Call me callous, cold hearted or whatever else fits the description of the day, but it doesn't bother me in the least bit. Further, contrary to what many people may say, it does work and that can't be denied. I will acknowledge up front that I seriously doubt that anyone opened up and said "Bin Laden is located at location X", something had to be discovered that led to another source of information because he is dead, no? Add Sadam, Uday, Kusay, Al Zawqari and a slew of other mass murders to the list of dead #badword#heads to the list. It works.

As for the Christianity tie in, I will have to answer for my actions on my day of judgement. I know I will have to explain how I can turn a blind eye to the treatment others have received. I will have to ask for forgiveness for the people I have killed. I will ask for forgiveness when I stand before God, just like I do just about every day because it does weigh on my mind. Contrary to what a lot of people might think, I do have a conscience.

I will ask for forgiveness and tell God that I feel the way I do about this treatment of others does save the lives of other people, Christians and non Christians, from being persecuted by others. I tell him that I believed that these people were intent on killing others out of jealousy. I will tell him that I myself have killed them, lots of them, because I see them as a threat to not only me, but my family, friends, my way of life and to Christianity itself. Sure, I have some remorse taking the lives of others, but at the end of the day (and in the crudest sense) it's my job. I protect something that most people do not understand and completely under value from people that they grossly underestimate. 

I don't expect you to understand my side of the story, not do I expect you to respect it either. That's OK with me. I have been immersed in this #badword#ty part of the world for years now, and with hindsight 20/20, I wish I never have had to been here. I wish I could be blissfully ignorant to the reality of this place and its people. It's an ugly place and situation, and hopefully for my soul God will understand why I've done what I've done.
