Message Replied To ========== So, third base is now the Kid's and his alone..... Up to now the starting third baseman has been the senior and captain of the team. The Kid has been moved around...starts at third when the Captain pitches...starts at second when the senior second baseman pitches...etc. Coach took Dad aside tonight...."I hate to do it. The Captain has come a long way from when he started with us. But, nobody plays third the way the Kid plays it. I'm moving the Captain to first and the Kid is our third baseman from now on." Not that I should say " I told you so", but I could have told him that about four games into the season. BTW...our family loves teh Captain. A really nice kid who has treated our Kid extremely well. The Kid's Dad and I talked about it tonight....at some point he needs to take the Captain aside and tell him how much we like him and how much we appreciate the way he has treated the Kid even though he was in line to take his job. ==============================do absolutely nothing to dampen my hope that someday The Kid plays for UF. |
