Message Replied To ========== I don't subscribe to the "why do it if it might cause danger" rule. That's not my point at all. My point is we need to stop being religious bigots. I would be equally opposed to a group putting on an anti-Semite cartoon contest, and I doubt many municipalities would welcome such an event to one of their venues. The point is not whether it would provoke violence or whether it's protected speech. The point is it's just wrong to do it.============================== be less tolerant of bigotry (or even humorous attacks) against them. Such an exhibit against Jews would immediately be shunned. Why? Because Jews don't attack those who ridicule them. Since Muslims do respond with violence by merely being offended, it is specifically them that should be made fun of. They are even more intolerant than those who ridicule them, which is precisely why people don't empathize with them. They're absolutely fine with virtually all bigotry (they flat out hate Christians, Jews, homosexuals, etc.)--just so long as it's directed at other groups. |
