if you're right you get an I Told You So.  If you're wrong you're "happily wrong".  You win either way. 

Celebrate the hire, all hires for that matter, and insult those who disagree. The majority here will back your play, including those who normally would challenge personal insults.

This is a position that rests well with the attack pack, the gang of posters of like-mind who support each other on most issues at the expense of those with different views.

As for if/when the hire doesn't work out, the attack pack go on the attack even then...preventing any sort of "I told you so."

For example, look at how they have treated Hung following Muschamp's firing. While Hung hasn't said "I told you so" (Despite being CORRECT about Muschamp AND our failure to sign OL, two issues on which Hung was lambasted on this and the recruiting forum by the attack pack). But instead, anytime Hung said something remotely negative about Muschamp he is aggressively met with "let it go" reminders that his is not a view that is well-received here on those topics.

Thus, the truly insulated position is the "positive" view that is "negative" in how other posters are treated on this forum.

After all, there is no credibility at stake because accountability for thoughts is not regarded by the bullies on this forum. They justify their optimism and bullying under the flag of being a "real Gator."

It's all about the group think. Go with the pack and you'll get stars. Dare to have a different view, and you'll get bruises. They pack will change the justifications for why they attack posters personally based on an assortment of reasons. They claim silly reasons like "frequency" or even "word count" when the real reason is that they don't like the content of the posts. Their pretext is easily dismissed by pointing to the fact that they attack at the first post, no matter its length.

But enough about the board bullies. Let's get back to your position of mine being the easy route.

I intend to prove you wrong. I'll do this by making a deal with you and any others here.

IF you promise not to personally confront "negative" posters on their opinions, then I personally will promise never to say I told you so on this hire if proven correct.

And when I say "personally confront"...I mean stick strictly to the content/subject of the posts rather than questioning or criticizing the poster on a personal level.

In fact, I'll sweeten the deal, if White is successful, I'll come here and start a thread saying that I was wrong. I'll own it.

Who here will take me up on that?
