"My problem is"

Message Replied To ==========

He never tried to "force his perception of right & wrong" on his daughter, he simply refused

to validate a union that violated his faith....he told his daughter he loved her and was fond of her partner but couldn't validate their union and that their union didn't diminish his love for her, she understood why can't you?==============================

He is divorced and allowed his daughter to grow up without him in her life. That makes me question his devotion to traditional marriage and family. I could allow for the divorce and even loss of custody, but to have NO contact with her until recently? That smells fishy.

And even if he means what he says about valuing the sanctity of marriage as a spiritual sacrament (which I agree with), his publishing an essay about skipping the ceremony reeks of..as DJ says.. a self absorbed ("look at me")quality more than his standing up for his beliefs. Why write about it? That should have been an issue between him, his daughter, and God..and nobody else.
