I think the skepticism for most about global warming isn't whether or not it is happening... I think for most (note I said most, not all), is how big of an impact do humans actually have on climate change.

If we were all living in straw huts, and there was no cars etc... given the wide swings of climate change in the earth's history, including times before the mass industry, are you 100% sure that the Ice Shelf still would not be declining?

I honestly don't know. I recycle, I have fuel efficient vehicles... I live in a very modest home even though I could afford a much larger more extravagent one... (Maybe not an energy guzzler like Al Gore has, but a nice home nonetheless...)

So I try to live a pretty energy efficient life, because I believe at least at the local level, yes, we do have an impact... I have seen the inversion in Salt Lake trapped by the mountains, in Colorado I have seen beautiful lakes with signs on them not to touch the water because they are contaminated with pollutants... Humans absolutely do effect the environment around them.

But with regard to the big picture, and actual climate change, I have no idea if the actions of humans has a significant impact or not. But unlike Al Gore and his own personal energy abuse from energy guzzling homes to jetsetting across the country every week in high polluting airplanes, I actually live my life like humans do have an impact.
