another football title without having to sacrifice other sports.  There is certainly nothing wrong with fans who only care about football .... enjoyment of other achievements by UF student athletes is not a prerequisite to be a fan of Gator football.  But those who do care about a variety of sports or the whole program are not any less passionate about football.

I understand people who say they only get excited about championships in certain sports because those are the sports that they enjoy and follow.  There are many on this board who dislike soccer, so I'd understand it if another soccer championship wouldn't move the needle for them.  That said, I do disagree with those who evaluate whether a title matters based upon the revenue of the sport being played.  I've never thought about how much a person matters to me in the context of how much they earn, so I wouldn't in this case either.  When I was at UF, I watched every single sport live at least once, with many being visited frequently.  Golf was by far the most boring to watch.  I do not get any enjoyment from golf.  I still think our titles in it matter, and I am excited when we do well because I am a Gator, but the fact that golf isn't a revenue sport doesn't matter one iota to me.
