Friday and Sunday we went to the baseball regionals.

I took my dad Friday for the FAMU game. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was at a 40th birthday party for a close friend's older brother (UGA fans apparently do not have to plan things around NCAA Regionals) and it was brought to my attention that the second pitcher for FAMU that night (Brandon Fleming) was actually the son of my high school's baseball coach. The Flemings had him when I was in high school so it made sense. Obligatory getting old comment.

Yesterday I brought my wife down to the FAU game. With everything going on wedding wise she had not been to a baseball game yet this year. Game was rolling along until the lightning delay. We both have to work today so we didn't want to stay too late but I wanted to walk over to the football stadium during the delay. I walked her up to Section 1 Row 59 seats 1 and 2 and asked her if these would work - she had no idea what I was talking about but she started tearing up. I let her know that my other wedding gift to her was our own season tickets in our name. I knew she would be excited but not moved to tears. I couldn't show her the seats earlier since I had to wait until after the season ticket holder deadline to pick the seats on the Virtual Seat program.

She loves going to the games - she has been a Gator fan all of her life but never went to a game until she met me. We will not always use those tickets - games where she can't go I'll sit with my dad and it is close enough to where my dad and I sit (Sect 59) that we can walk over every game if we want.

Anyway thank you to whoever cancelled those tickets.

After all of that we got back to the car and headed home. We made it to Citizens Field and then I got a notification that the game was going to restart at 7:30pm - executive decision - we went back to McKethan to watch the last inning. Gators win!
