He was a two-time All-Star in his old league but this new league was a step-up and he really had to make an impression as the new guy.  He's not The Kid or even one of the best players on the team, but it is a big accomplishment, and it allows him to keep playing and getting better, with the best players his age in our County.  This is a very strong team that barely lost in Sectionals last year.  The bottom two players from last season were dropped for my kid and a 5'3" 130 pound power hitting catcher with a big arm behind the plate.

Little League isn't what it used to be because travel ball has watered down the talent level a bit, but we have some elite talent on the team and they all play travel ball as well as league ball. It is a salty, veteran team that is deep, athletic and skilled.

So I'll be on the lookout for the next JJ Schwarz, although  I think he actually might be on this team.  The kid even looks like JJ, and he's a freak talent.  Hit .920 in travel ball in 10U and over .800 for us in league play.  Plays up with the 12's currently in travel ball with a good team and is an exceptional player there as well.  Has a great glove and plays every position on the field well, including pitcher and catcher.  LOVES the Gators and has two sisters at UF.

We have another freaky kid, about 5'9" and 170 pounds, who is very athletic with fast hands and 275 foot homerun power. Great 1st baseman,  Also a Gator fan, from a Gator family, and one of his nicknames is Tebow.
