I think what will happen is we will have fewer and fewer traditional marriages (which is already happening)..and a declining birthrate below sustainable levels needed to maintain society. We will have more single parent families and the associated continuation of cycles of poverty that they are associated with. How many "father's day" memes did you see celebrating single mothers on Father's day?

Society has a vested interest in strengthening the traditional heterosexual family and elevating it to a special privileged position because that is the unit which procreates society..heterosexual, homosexual and asexual alike. Without it, none of the others can exist. Our society has just decreed that there is nothing special about heterosexual procreation and rearing of children. All are "equal" despite the obvious biological truth that they are not. One is not even allowed to have a differing opinion without being exposed to ridicule and now, apparently, lawsuit.

Just look at the snarkiness of many nongays who are "celebrating" this, most of which I have seen not as happiness for gays but for "sticking it" to those who hold to traditional beliefs.
